“Transforming the World of Work” – I was so exited when I read the new vision statement of the Scrum Alliance under the Scrum Alliance logo this week. We – Jim Cundiff, Scrum Alliance, Peter Hundermark, Scrum Sense and myself helped to start the Scrum User Group South Africa this week in Cape Town and in Gauteng.
In Cape Town 160 people and in Gauteng about 50 people listened to a wonderful talk by Jim Cundiff. Jim told us that the Scrum Alliance will work very close with the Scrum community. He believes that the communities in the different countries will be the cornerstone of the Scrum movement. Jim explained the new vision statement of the Scrum Alliance, and that he was very happy to be part of a community that wants to “transform the world of work”.
I talked about “Scrum is Simple but Extremely Hard”. I shared the history of the Scrum movement with the people and talked about the ScrumMaster being a Change Agent who uses Scrum to transform and galvanize teams.
In Cape Town and in Gauteng our main goal was to start networking and that worked very well. Most people stayed and discussed Scrum with us, asked a lot of questions about Scrum and get to know each other.
